About us

The ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë has a proven record of excellence in the field of sport and exercise science, with plenty to offer anyone who has an enthusiasm for sport, exercise and health.

Top class facilities

We have a multi-purpose indoor sports centre, two floodlit synthetic pitches, an exercise physiology suite, two further sports science laboratories, nutrition laboratory, teaching rooms, gymnasium and dance studio. Recent major developments have seen the introduction of the award-winning Riverside Building and the 2,000 seat Worcester Arena.

Our innovative Motion and Performance Centre is situated on the St John's campus has expertise in a wide range of areas, ranging from Physical Activity, Exercise and Health to Biomechanics and Sport and Exercise Physiology.

Sporting links

The University has particular strengths in basketball and netball. Our men's and women's basketball teams and netball first team have all enjoyed considerable success. The  are the West Midlands' premier basketball team playing in the British Wheelchair Basketball Women's Premier League and the National Basketball League (men's and women's).  The Club is owned by the ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë and home games and training take place at the 2,000 seat ¾ÞÈéÎÞÂë Arena.  The Club was formed in May 2000 and teams have competed in the National Basketball League (current), the British Basketball League (2006-2021), the Women's National League (current) and the Women's Wheelchair Basketball Premier League (current). In addition, the University has good links with the region’s sports teams, particularly , , and  and .

Scholarship opportunities

If you are already involved in competitive sport, we offer sports scholarships in a range of sports, including basketball, cricket, netball, football and rugby.
