Tina has had the pleasure of being involved in the education of midwives since 1995 when she began her teaching career at the Middlesex University, London.
Tina is a highly motivated and experienced midwifery educationalist with expertise in curriculum design, development and delivery. She is committed to ensuring that at the point of qualification our students are capable, competent and caring Midwives, able to provide the safe and compassionate care that women and their babies demand.
Tina is enthusiastic and passionate about ensuring that students experience the best possible learning experience enabling them to achieve their full potential during their journey to graduation. As a Professional Midwifery Advocate providing student support and promoting student well-being is central to what Tina does.

Teaching & Research
Teaching:
Tina has experience of teaching all elements of midwifery education; her particular passion and expertise aligns to the following subjects:

- Newborn and infant physical health assessment
- Professional Advocacy
- Breastfeeding
- Skills simulation
She is experienced in the delivery and development of our enquiry based learning curriculum and consider students to be active partners in their learning.
Research :
Tina is an aspiring qualitative researcher. She has recently completed her Professional Doctorate in Advanced Healthcare Practice at Cardiff University.
Tina's thesis was entitled:
'An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis of Midwives’ Experiences of Promoting Normal Birth in an Alongside Midwife Unit in the United Kingdom'
Tina is an an active member of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery research community
Professional Experience
Professional Experience
Tina has been a qualified midwife since 1985 and has considerable experience in all aspects of midwifery practice in both acute and community settings.
During her career Tina has gained experience of co-ordinating delivery suits, caring for women experiencing complex pregnancy and birth; managing antenatal clinics and fulfilling the role of the community midwife, caring for women experiencing uncomplicated pregnancy and birth and facilitating home births. The majority of Tina's clinical midwifery practice was undertaken in inner London.
